True story. I only listened to this because the thumbnail on YouTube was so amazing. So, kudos to whoever chose it. Turns what's behind the image is top-notch as well. I love it when that happens. 'Drugs in California' is an extraordinary electro-pop number about how the addictive qualities of fame are always accompanied by unavoidable downsides. Subject matter aside, it's a totally gorgeous track, with a euphoric chorus and the best use of a harp in a pop song that I can ever remember. You should spend some time watching the video, too. It's a thing of total beauty.
