Lauren Mayberry - Change Shapes

The ability to write catchy Pop numbers that are as smart as a whip is a gift that not that many songwriters have, but it's something that Lauren Mayberry clearly has in abundance because 'Change Shapes' ticks both of those boxes and is most worthy of your attention. It's lyrically perfect (the couple of 'It makes me nauseous waiting for slips of the tongue/ God, I know you love it when you're eating your young' deserves all of the awards). It also smashes the musical side with a bassline that resembles an updated version of 'Start' by The Jam. Brilliant.
