Debut solo singles are a tricky thing. Do you go all out and show every trick you have from the off? Or play it cool and give people just enough to grab their attention so they come back for more? Enter 'Flex' by Sappho, which manages to do both of those things at once. It's a joyous slice of 'Future Pop', full of layered electro stabs and an uplifting lyric. It's easily one of the catchiest, classiest, and most polished songs I've heard this year and further proof that all the best music is coming out of Australia right now.
