Some dance producers try way too hard to make their tracks sound 'uplifting'. They assume that if they chuck in a gospel choir, a full orchestra's worth of violins and an ornate piano line, it will do the job for them. This is not the case. Sometimes simplicity is best. This new remix by Bruise of Raf Rundell's excellent 'Always Fly' is just a beat, a bassline, a couple of interlaced riffs and a great house vocal from Terri Walker. But with those simple components, it does more to swell my soul than almost anything else I've heard this year.
