The evolution of WILLOW continues. They have gone through their Pop, Metal, and drum-and-bass phases, come out the other side, and entered a more contemplative, alternative space. This new single, 'symptom of life', is a beautifully crafted song with some of the best vocals of their entire career, layered to perfection and underpinned by broken beats and acrobatic piano lines. The whole track flows effortlessly with so many twists and turns that sometimes it feels like a one-shot improvised piece where everything falls perfectly into place. If this is a taste of what's to come from them, colour me excited.
