Whether or not you're a fan of RuPaul's Drag Race, it's been pretty hard to avoid the unstoppable rise of Trixie Mattel over the past few years. Most of the Queens from the show go down the generic, autotuned, club track route. Mattel has always remained faithful to her country and guitar-based roots, recording three albums and delivering some cracking singles along the way. This new single is a cover of one of my favourite Violent Femmes songs ever. The original is super kitsch and camp, and her twist on it is arguably the best thing she's released to date.
