SOPHIE - BIPP (Autechre Remix)

Autechre's remix of 'BIPP' is a lot more commercial than most of their output, but I think that's a blessing in disguise. The original 2015 track by SOPHIE is insane, twisted, electro tune (in the best possible way) and was way ahead of its time. This new rework slows things down and strips it right back. The result wouldn't be out of place on an early 80s Breakdance movie soundtrack or even one of the Lisa Lisa albums. The production here is so well handled the whole thing seems timeless, with the vocal taking centre stage. This is electronic perfection.
