Now, this is an unexpected and refreshing change. Avoiding the usual Drag Race identikit club fodder (if I hear one more single with the words 'Slay', 'Mother', or 'Yaaaas' repeated a thousand times, I won't be held responsible for my actions), Shea Couleé has released something that would sit comfortably on a mid-eighties Luther Vandross or Janet Jackson album. It has a slick, ultra-produced, almost Jam & Lewis vibe, and it works. Her voice perfectly suits the style, and the track is a definite earworm with a solid hook. Note to the other Ru Girls, time to step it up.
