Sampha - Spirit 2.0

Sampha is one of the few artists who can reduce me to tears simply by opening his mouth. It's been a decade since 'Too Much', and it still turns me into a blubbing wreck whenever I hear it. He's back with his first new music in six years, and it's a welcome return. There's something unique in how he constructs his songs that makes them feel like they continuously evolve as you listen. 'Spirit 2.0' feels featherlight but also has an extraordinary sense of depth and clarity. The level of detail here is crazy, with each exquisite element balanced perfectly.
