Priya Ragu wrote 'Black Goose' after the murder of George Floyd in 2020, and the fact that all of the lyrics in this song are still as relevant today as they were back then is beyond depressing to me. There's real anger here, and justifiably so. Especially when she punches lines like "Officer, don't shoot, I got so much shit to do". Her message comes through loud and clear from start to finish. Combine that power with her incredible vocals and some of the tightest and most exciting production I've heard all year, and you've got a truly epic track.
