Disco influenced pop songs are ten a penny nowadays, but only a small number of them achieve that effortless sense of class and coolness that lifts them above the noise. 'Luminescent', Poppy Baskcomb's immaculate new single, can also now claim membership to that exclusive club. It's irresistible from the second it starts. Every element here melds together beautiful, taking you along for the ride until the last bassline driven beat. Undoubtedly, some people will want to compare it to the likes of Jessie Ware or Róisín Murphy, but I fail to see how that could ever be a bad thing.
