On the one hand, I firmly believe that we don't need a 'West End Girls' remake. It's fine and dandy just how it is, thank you very much. But on the other hand, I also think this FINALLY properly released 'Lockdown Version' is complete genius. It makes sense that the Pet Shop Boys' sound has matured over the past forty years, so that's precisely what's on show here. In fact, even though it's a bit faster and chunkier than the original song in places, it all seems so incredibly chilled out. The whole thing is borderline zen. Top drawer stuff.
