For starters, 'New London Boy' does something that the Pet Shop Boys do better than almost anyone else out there, namely chronicling the gay experience with genuine warmth and fondness, regardless of whether they are talking about the AIDS epidemic or finding your place in 1980s Queer London. It's a beautiful song. Add to that the precise, featherlight touch of Boy Harsher on remix duties here, creating a perfectly pitched dark wave number with some truly haunting vocal moments, and you've got a slice of first class electronica that soars from start to finish.
