Mörmaid continues to blow my mind with everything she releases. I'm not joking when I say that every producer on the planet should be looking her way to understand just how good their music can sound (see also Midland). 'I'm Trying' is a mid-tempo slice of electronic pop about how people deal with depression differently, inspired by the late Elliott Smith. Something I can 100% hear in both the structure and lyrics. It's a masterclass in songwriting, production and performance and is sublime on every fucking level. I could easily write another thousand words about this one. Do not miss.
