My favourite New Order songs have been ones that were either a collaboration or from one of their many side projects. That can't be normal. Is there something wrong with me? I'm asking this question because this update of Mella Dee's 'Riptide', a shimmering Techno monster borne out of the frustrations of lockdown, features one of the best Bernard Sumner vocals I have heard in ages. He has almost every emotion going on in his voice pretty much all of the time. Relentless and uplifting from start to finish, this is an absolute cracker of a single. 100% Fucking Essential.
