Sometimes, I get a feeling in the pit of my stomach that I am not going to be able to do a song justice with my writing. I am having that exact problem today because 'Mothers & Fathers' is, and I don't use this word lightly, perfect. The whole thing is stripped right back, with gentle guitar licks, almost non-existent percussion, and some uplifting, angelic, strings used sparingly over the chorus. The production here is phenomenal, but the undoubted star here is the vocal. Marti's sublime voice is so raw and has genuine power behind it. You really need this.
