Ex-B-52s members Cindy Wilson and Fred Schneider have released some of my favourite tracks of recent years under their own names, so it makes sense that Kate Pierson is back and getting in on the solo action. Her new single, 'Evil Love', is a haunting sixties girl group number that comes across like a slowed-down version of 'He's a Rebel' by the Crystals if the Boulet Brothers had produced it. By that, I mean that there are dark, delicious forces at play here, with Pierson calling it "A not so true tale of obsessive possessiveness and righteous revenge". It's fabulous!
