I was knocking about when the colossal trance explosion of the late 90s happened. The sound had been around since the start of my clubbing tenure in 91/92, and the earlier stuff from labels like EyeQ in Germany and Stress in the UK were cinematic masterpieces that still hold up today. The crossover tunes post-99 was mostly formulaic and emotionless. Jaytech is probably one of a handful of artists nowadays that I associate with the genre that I have time for because there are genuine emotions and structure in the tracks he produces. 'Feel Free' is a top-notch release.
