Four Tet - Three Drums

When you think you've got your head around Kieran Hebden as an artist, he throws you a curveball. 'Three Drums' is a step away from his recent club tracks, favouring a laidback drum loop with seemingly endless layers of lush instrumentation floating over the beats. That may sound relatively simple, and that's because it is. But because this is Four Tet, every element has been honed to perfection, and the production is impeccable. This has totally floored me, to be honest. It's one of the finest pieces of music I've heard in years. The best record of 2023 so far.
