Foster The People - The Things We Do

If in thirty years time Daft Punk is performing some kind of twilight residency at a cocktail lounge with leatherette wall coverings overlooking the Cannes shoreline, testing their new material on octogenarian millionaire widows, this is most likely what it would sound like. Sort of. The first half is standard enough spacy disco fare then without warning it flies off in a different direction entirely, sounding like a darker 80s twist on the Tron Legacy soundtrack. Unfortunately, the fantasy all slips a little whenever they chuck in their standard FTP anthemic chorus. Which is a bit of a shame, really.
