In the mid-90s, Trance wasn't a dirty word within the dance community. It meant thoughtfully constructed melodies that took you on an epic journey. It was something you could go nuts to in a club and listen to at home as well. Beautifully crafted music that was all about structure and delicacy. Then, around 1999, it mutated into a beast that sounded more like cynically engineered car alarms with the sole purpose of filling stadiums and superclubs. 'Lost Island' is a diamond of a tune that takes me back to those pre-bosh times, thankfully, and I fucking love it. Gorgeous.
