Corinne Bailey-Rae - New York Transit Queen

When you think of Corinne Bailey-Rae, you lean towards gentle, summer-tinged Soul. All sunshine and lying in flower meadows or perhaps even a river bank. Well, she's back, and to say there's been a shift in direction in her material would be an understatement. Her new single, 'New York Transit Queen,' is two minutes of unadulterated, blistering Punk, and it's brilliant. It's got everything. Handclaps, crashing drums, and buzzsaw guitars. It's amazing to hear her let rip using that incredible voice in a totally different way, too. Hopefully, we'll get more stuff like this from her because this fucking rocks.
