Do you remember when Martika and Prince were a thing, and she started putting out cracking songs like 'Love Thy Will Be Done' and that one about the Kitchen? Well, I'm not sure if the criminally rated Carly Rae Jepsen has hooked up with his ghost or something, but she has obviously entered the slightly more serious and artistic phase of her career with this intelligent new single, 'Western Wind'. A million miles away from previous bangers, 'I Really Like You' and 'Cut To The Feeling', it's full of disjointed percussion, layered synths and breathy vocals... and it fucking rocks.
