I've heard people say that an artist or band they love could release an album of them singing pages from the phone book, and they would still buy a copy. I am beginning to feel that way about Ari Lennox. I can't think of another vocalist out there right now with as much raw soul (and jazz) in her voice. Everything she does is exquisite, including this spin on 'My Favourite Things', the Julie Andrews standard from 'The Sound Of Music'. Not the first thing I would have expected her to cover, but it's incredible, and I am completely obsessed.
