To be honest, my commitment to Sophie Ellis-Bextor to date has mostly involved dancing wildly to 'Groovejet' in my clubbing days, acting out the video to 'Murder On The Dancefloor' in my bedroom away from prying eyes, and enjoying her joy-filled Kitchen Discos during the COVID lockdowns. But when she gets it right, it's never less than excellent, and 'Lost In The Sunshine' is a complete bullseye. It's a dreamy, uncomplicated slice of summer Pop that more than lives up to its title. Your whole body will relax the second you hear those opening bars. Give in to the sunshine.
